CB Dane Jackson
One of the most-intriguing rookies on Buffalo’s roster is Dane Jackson. The seventh-round pick out of Pitt was clearly not a highly-touted player in the eyes of NFL teams since he nearly went undrafted. But despite that, he does have some promise. In the pre-draft process, NFL.com actually predicted him as a fifth-round pick, so maybe the Bills got a steal?
Well the Bills have an opportunity to see if they do because cornerback EJ Gaines was the other opt out Buffalo had, along with Lotulelei.
In Jackson, the Bills have a guy who could provide the team with something very similar to what Gaines would have brought. Jackson can be a No. 2 in the slot behind Taron Johnson, and he has the length to compete on the outside at 6-foot. Jackson only ran a 4.57-second 40-yard dash at the combine, so that’s likely why he fell. If he shows the Bills that speed isn’t an issue, he can have a good look at the team’s final roster.
