As will be the norm over the next six weeks leading up to the NFL Draft, there will be various mock drafts from different outlets.
Those said mock drafts will be altered heavily due to free agent signings and trades that will change the mindset of NFL General Managers when it comes to drafting their team needs.
The latest mock draft from USA Today’s Nate Davis has taken account of the latest free agent signings, as well as the trade involving former Atlanta Falcon Matt Ryan to the Indianapolis Colts.
Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks is considered to be a top-20 selection and remains in that position according to Davis, where he has the Philadelphia Eagles drafting him at No. 15 overall.
No, this is not the first time that Burks and the Eagles have been linked. Due to a meeting between the two in early March, several mock drafts have the Eagles taking the 6-3 receiver with their first selection of the 2022 draft.
Here is why Davis believes that Burks will be the perfect fit for the Philadelphia offense:
Burks’ 4.55 combine 40 seems downright pedestrian when stacked up against his receiver peers. But at 6-2, 225 pounds, he would bring a different element to a Smurf-ish group that hasn’t gotten enough from holdovers like Jalen Reagor or 2019 second-round bust J.J. Arcega-Whiteside. Burks’ size would also be a plus for sometimes scattershot QB Jalen Hurts, and his potential as a Deebo Samuel-type weapon (1,216 yards and 12 TDs by way of 80 touches from scrimmage last season) would be a boon to any team while beautifully complementing 2021 first-rounder DeVonta Smith.
Treylon Burks and the rest of his draft-eligible teammates continue to prepare for the NFL Draft that is scheduled for April 28-30.
