One of the top prospects for the Oklahoma Sooners in the NFL draft is Creed Humphrey, if he isn’t the best it is close. Our colleagues at Touchdown Wire are continuing their series of ranking the top prospects with their positional groups. With the offensive lineman, Humphrey is viewed as a top-five prospect overall among the group and the No. 2 center behind Alabama Crimson Tide center Landon Dickerson.
What Touchdown Wire says…
There’s some talk about positional flexibility adding to Humphrey’s draft value, but I’m not sure about that — he didn’t play a single snap anywhere but center for the Sooners, and with his shorter arms and issues against power, he looks like a scheme-specific guard at best. However, Humphrey does have the potential to be an above-average center at the next level — he’s just going to have to continue to maximize his leverage and be in an offense where power is less important than intelligence and athleticism. – Doug Farrar
When discussing his best pro comparison, the name that pops up is another former Big 12 center in Kansas State’s Cody Whitehair. He was selected in the second round at pick No. 56 to the Chicago Bears. Interestingly enough, Draft Wire’s latest mock puts Humphrey right in that same area. The Sooners center was mocked to the Pittsburgh Steelers with pick No. 55. After losing longtime center Maurkice Pouncey to retirement, they need a new center to step in and that very well could be Creed Humphrey if he is still available at that slot.

Fellow offensive lineman in the draft, Adrian Ealy was not among the top 11 players on the list. In fact, most recent mock drafts don’t have him in the full seven-round mocks released as of late. It could be a situation where he will need to sign as an undrafted free agent and fight his way onto the regular-season roster.
