Texas fans are anxiously awaiting to hear where four-star running back Cedric Baxter Jr. will continue his playing career.
Baxter is scheduled to announce his commitment on August 10 at 6 p.m. CT. The Orlando native’s top four schools are Miami, Florida, Texas A&M and Texas. Over the last few weeks, the Longhorns have emerged as the heavy favorite.
While nothing is certain until pen hits the paper during the early signing period, Baxter would be a significant addition to Texas’ 2023 class. He is rated the No. 2 running back in the country and the No. 7 overall prospect in Florida, according to 247Sports.
If Baxter were to indeed announce his commitment to Texas on Wednesday, the Longhorns would jump Georgia and Ohio State in 247Sports’ 2023 class rankings. Texas currently has a class grade of 278.30. With the addition of Baxter, the grade would improve to 285.93.
Here’s a look at where Texas would land within the top 10 with the addition of Baxter.
