Despite their recent struggles on the field, Texas still has one of the highest rated recruiting classes in the nation for the 2022 cycle.
Recruiting rankings are nothing but a game of see-saw until national signing day finalizes each class. However, it’s a promising sign that the Longhorns have consistently appeared within the top 10.
According to 247Sports’ 2022 class rankings, Steve Sarkisian’s first full recruiting cycle at Texas currently sits at No. 6 in the country. The group has the potential to once again jump back into the top five if they land a few of their priority targets such as five-star wide receiver Evan Stewart and five-star offensive lineman Devon Campbell.
Georgia, Alabama, Penn State, Ohio State, and Notre Dame are listed ahead of the Longhorns. Big 12 rival Oklahoma isn’t far behind with the No. 8 recruiting class.
Texas’ impressive haul up to this point is headlined by four-star wide receiver Brenen Thompson and four-star running back Jamarion Miller. The highest rated prospects on the defensive side are four-star safety Bryan Allen Jr. and four-star defensive lineman Jaray Bledsoe.
