Where Spencer Rattler lands in the ‘way too early’ 2022 mock draft

The Draft Network put together their way too early mock draft for 2022, so where does Spencer Rattler go?

The dust hasn’t quite settled on the 2021 NFL draft and analysts have already started looking to the 2022 draft. One name to watch will be Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Spencer Rattler. He will be eligible to make the jump to the NFL but the question is will he? The Heisman Trophy favorite will have a decision to make.

The Draft Network has already produced their first mock draft for 2022 and Spencer Rattler is right at the top of it. Quarterbacks are always at the top of the conversation, and three of the top five picks are the gunslingers. For Rattler, he lands in the mock as the No. 1 overall selection. If that were to be the case, Rattler would make the third quarterback to be drafted from that slot under Lincoln Riley.

What The Draft Network Says…

If the Houston Texans are picking this high, Deshaun Watson won’t be their quarterback anymore. If that’s the case, they’ll be picking at the top of the 2022 draft. Spencer Rattler brings the big arm that gives him first-overall potential.

With so many questions surrounding Deshaun Watson, this would make sense for the Houston Texans organization. However, with as dysfunctional as that team appears to be as of late it might not be the best situation for a young quarterback like Spencer Rattler.

No other Oklahoma Sooner appeared in the “way too early” mock draft but there is plenty of time for players to rise up draft boards. As it sits right now, Rattler will be the player to watch each Saturday.
