Where Michigan football ranks in Week 8 US LBM Coaches Poll

Another ranked matchup this week. #GoBlue

Michigan football was idle in Week 7 and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Losing to unranked Washington in Week 6, the Wolverines made a quarterback change to a now-healthy Jack Tuttle in hopes to rekindle some of the offensive success of the past few seasons. The defense still has questions, but the week off should allow the maize and blue to regroup ahead of another road trip — this next week to ranked Illinois.

Michigan’s best win was diminished with USC losing to Penn State on Saturday, but it will face a truly top-tier team in November with Oregon — fresh off a win over Ohio State — coming to town.

As a result of the week that was in college football, Michigan fell in the Week 8 US LBM Coaches Poll, moving from No. 21 to No. 22. Former opponent Texas is ranked No. 1, while future opponent Illinois is No. 21, Indiana is No. 18, Oregon is No. 2 and Ohio State is No. 5. That means four of the remaining six games are ranked matchups, if everything holds.
