Michigan football hasn’t exactly had the most exciting season this year, but the Wolverines still have a ton of top talent. And some players are even creeping their way into potentially being picked on day one of the 2025 NFL draft.
Of course, the players who were still thought of as high-caliber talents are still high on the list. Cornerback Will Johnson and defensive tackle Mason Graham are atop the leaderboard at their respective positions, but we’re seeing other Wolverines rise and fall in the eyes of draftniks as Michigan trudges on in the 2024 season.
ESPN NFL draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. released his latest ‘big board’ (subscription required) and four Wolverines were ranked in the top 25 while two more were in the top 10 at their position.
Player | Ovr Rnk | Pos Rnk | |
CB | Will Johnson | 2 | 1 |
DT | Mason Graham | 5 | 1 |
DT | Kenneth Grant | 15 | 2 |
TE | Colston Loveland | 24 | 2 |
OLB | Josaiah Stewart | – | 6 |
K | Dominic Zvada | – | 4 |
EDGE Derrick Moore seems to be something of a notable omission, as does reserve defensive tackle Rayshaun Benny, but other than that, the list feels about right at the moment when it comes to the Wolverines’ high-end talent.
Loveland went from being the No. 1 tight end to being usurped by Penn State‘s Tyler Warren, who is having a better year statistically.
It will be interesting to see if Stewart rises up the rankings as he continues to be one of the best edge rushers from the outside linebacker position this year.
