Where Michigan basketball ranks in Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll after returning

Now that Michigan basketball is back after a three-week hiatus, here’s where the Wolverines and their opponents rank in the eyes of coaches.

In a game that appeared to not be going Michigan basketball’s way, with a potential loss and losing footing in the polls on the line, the Wolverines asserted themselves to win vs. Wisconsin on the road. It was a big win for the maize and blue, especially considering that it came after having three weeks off due to COVID-19 protocols in the athletic department.

By holding serve and winning, Michigan basketball retained its No. 3 ranking nationally in the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll, powered by USA TODAY Sports. But it still has some tough contests forthcoming.

By virtue of losing to Michigan, the Badgers didn’t move, as they’re still ranked No. 21. The maize and blue did not play No. 5 Illinois this past Thursday as scheduled, but they do travel to No. 4 Ohio State this upcoming Sunday. A matchup with No. 14 Iowa comes still later this season.
