Where is Bears WR Allen Robinson’s contract extension?

If there’s anyone worthy of a contract extension on the Bears, it’s WR Allen Robinson, who was one of the lone bright spots on offense.

There was big news in the NFL on Monday as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes signed a 10-year extension worth $450 million and could get up to $503 million.

One player for the Chicago Bears that’s looking for a contract extension is wide receiver Allen Robinson. The 26-year old is in his last year of his 2018 contract and is coming off a 98 reception season with 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns.

Robinson seemed to be the only bright spot on the Bears offense last year, especially with the inconsistent quarterback play, which is incredible since he still played at a WR1 level.

In the meantime, Robinson isn’t really worried about a new contract.

“If something gets done, something gets done,” Robinson said, via SI.com. “But at the end of the day that’s left up to the Bears and my agent. But for me personally, to be quite honest, I don’t really concern myself with that too much.

“I’m just looking forward to this 2020 season. I’m definitely excited for it. I’m definitely ready to get going. Whatever happens, happens.”

Back in May and early June, Robinson said he has been working out on the field Mitchell Trubisky about four times a week. Then about mid-June, Robinson was seen working with Dr. Michael Risher.

Robinson is the biggest name for the Bears heading into free agency next year and their best offensive weapon, so he has all the leverage to cash in a big deal and it seems like a no brainer for Chicago to give him that extension.
