Where Florida’s future opponents land on US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 2

After two weeks of football the US LBM Coaches Poll looks a little different. Florida didn’t earn any votes, but what about the teams on UF’s schedule?

Several big games graced the college football slate in Week 2, which led to some movement on the US LBM Coaches Poll, but Florida’s 45-7 win over Samford wasn’t one of them.

Florida’s five-score win didn’t impress any of the Coaches Poll voters, but it’s still worth checking in on how the Gators’ past and future opponents stack up.

Miami continued its climb up the top 25 with a big win over FAMU. The Hurricanes are now ranked No. 12 after moving up three spots. UF’s Week 3 opponent, Texas A&M, bounced back after a Week 1 loss with a 52-10 win over McNeese.

Up next on the schedule are Mississippi State and UCF. The Bulldogs don’t have much going for them right now at 1-1 with no poll support, but UCF has a chance to be ranked by the time they match up with the Gators. UCF earned 12 poll points this week, good for the unofficial No. 37 spot in the country.

Tennessee jumped up three spots to No. 9, making them a heavy favorite against Florida.

Kentucky is the only future opponent of Florida to drop in the rankings this week. After earning enough votes in last week’s poll to be the unofficial No. 29 team in the country, the Wildcats find themselves

Then comes the gauntlet. Florida faces No. 1 Georgia, No. 3 Texas, No. 17 LSU and No. 5 Ole Miss over a grueling four-week stretch.

Finally, Florida ends the season against unranked Florida State. The Seminoles are 0-2, which is unexpected but welcomed by a Gators team that figures to struggle in the second half.

Looking at the rest of the SEC, Missouri continues to establish itself in the top 10, now ranked No. 8 in the land. Conference newcomer Oklahoma is still at No. 13. South Carolina earned 25 poll points after upsetting Kentucky.
