Where each Big Ten team stands in latest ESPN SP+ preseason rankings

The conference is as deep as ever.

We’re just under 100 days from college football starting back up, and there are big expectations for multiple Big Ten teams.

From defending conference champion Michigan football, to expected 2022 champion Ohio State, to Penn State, a surging Wisconsin and Michigan State, and others, the conference is deep, and relatively top-heavy.

That said, those who have long dwelled at the bottom — like Rutgers and Maryland — are rising in the eyes of the advanced analytics.

ESPN released its preseason SP+ advanced analytics rankings, and the bottom end is certainly rising, while the top end continues to get that much more muddled with numerous teams fighting for conference — and college football — supremacy.
