When it comes to big threes in the NBA, the Boston Celtics helped create the idea with their legendary trio of Robert Parish, Kevin McHale and Larry Bird in the 1980s.
The ball club remixed the concept for the modern era with the grouping of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in 2007. That lasted until the teardown leading to the current team’s era of contention.
Now, with a big three of Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, the Celtics find themselves ranked among the top big threes in the NBA of today.
