For the second straight season, Oklahoma enters a highly-anticipated Bedlam matchup and somewhat easily outclasses in-state rival Oklahoma State across the board. Whether it comes down to a difference in talent or Lincoln Riley simply staying one step ahead of Mike Gundy (perhaps a combination of both), there’s little excuse for Oklahoma State once again falling completely flat in what’s supposed to be the biggest game of its season.
Besides earning bragging rights, Oklahoma knocked Oklahoma State from first place in the Big 12 for the first time all season. The Cowboys move into a three-way tie with Oklahoma and Texas for second-place.
The Big 12’s playoff picture is narrowing by the week, but there are still a number of big matchups left to be played, namely: Texas-Iowa State, Texas-Kansas State, Oklahoma-West Virginia and Iowa State-West Virginia. All of these games have massive implications on who ends up in Arlington when it’s all said and done, but there seems to be one prevailing theme in the Big 12 right now: Oklahoma is the team to beat.
