Tre White Proves Himself to National Audience

All season long, the Bills have been begging for attention from the nation at large. Being the Bills, there’s only so much attention that’s paid to them, even during a winning season. This is especially true of Tre’Davious White, who may be the best cornerback in the entire NFL.

White has had a spectacular season for the Bills and is likely on his way to the Pro Bowl. But he’s been craving attention from the national media, which he has been slow to get. That’s starting to change, though, as the Bills continue to win and White continues to star. White made a huge statement to a national TV audience on Sunday night.

White came away with two interceptions against Devlin Hodges, including a game-changing interception in the third quarter with the Steelers leading and driving into Buffalo territory. White stepped in front of Diontae Johnson at the Buffalo 33 and ran Hodges’ pass back to the Pittsburgh 18. The interception and long run back set up a game-tying field goal early in the fourth quarter.

White’s big night came on the perfect stage for him. He also got plenty of face time after the game as he was interviewed on the field by Michele Tafoya and later on SportsCenter by Scott Van Pelt.

You will likely now here White mentioned as one of the two or three best cornerbacks in the league by national pundits. It’s easy to claim now that White is a star player in the league. With six interceptions, White is now tied with former Bill Stephon Gilmore for the league lead. Oh by the way, the two premier corners will face each other next week in another nationally-televised game. It’s another opportunity White should relish.
