It wasn’t an easy day for Rutgers football, who had a bad home loss to No. 11 Ohio State.

Last week, it seemed like there was momentum for Rutgers football following a tough and hard-fought loss at then-No. 19 Michigan. The Scarlet Knights followed that up with a less than impressive showing against No. 11 Ohio State at home.

Rutgers lost 52-13 on Saturday, a difficult game for a Rutgers program that appeared poised for big and better things after a strong showing in Week 4.

Any way this game is looked at and dissected, Rutgers came up short. While Rutgers can stack up well against some Big Ten teams, it is clear that the upper-echelon programs like the one that rolled into Piscataway on Saturday are quite high up the pyramid.

It is clear that time is still needed for the Scarlet Knights to add more talent to turn these type of games into something competitive.
