What to know from Packers’ first injury report of Week 7 vs. Texans

Things to know from the Packers’ first injury report before playing the Texans on Sunday.

The Green Bay Packers released the team’s first injury report of Week 7 on Wednesday. The team will release two more injury reports, including a final injury report on Friday with official playing status designations before Sunday’s showdown with the Houston Texans.

Here’s everything to know from the Packers’ first injury report of Week 7:

— Offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins (knee), defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt (ankle) and defensive lineman Colby Wooden (knee) did not participate on Wednesday. Jenkins and Wyatt have been dealing with the same injuries, while Wooden’s injury is new. Wyatt has missed two straight games and might be hard pressed to return after missing the start of this week.

— Receiver Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) was a limited participant on Wednesday despite leaving Sunday’s win with an injury. Receiver Jayden Reed (ankle) was also limited with an injury suffered Sunday. Wicks didn’t return to the game; Reed did. Both appear to have avoided a significant injury.

— Center Josh Myers has a new neck injury. He was limited at practice on Wednesday. Myers briefly left Sunday’s win. In his absence, the Packers moved Jenkins to center and inserted Jordan Morgan at guard.

— The Packers removed linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hip), offensive lineman Jordan Morgan (shoulder), offensive tackle Zach Tom (shoulder), offensive tackle Rasheed Walker (knee), cornerback Carrington Valentine (ankle) and safety Zayne Anderson (elbow) from the injury report to start Week 7.

— Cornerback Jaire Alexander (groin), defensive lineman Kenny Clark (toe) and tight end Tucker Kraft (groin) were all limited on Wednesday. They played through the injuries last week.

— Defensive lineman Jonathan Ford was a full participant. It’s possible he’s activated to the 53-man roster this week if the Packers don’t have Wyatt and Wooden.

— The Texans listed nine players on the injury report, including six players who did not participate on Wednesday. Among the DNPs were starters at linebacker (Azeez Al-Shaair, Henry To’oTo’o), safety (Jimmie Ward), cornerback (Kamari Lassiter) and defensive line (Folorunso Fatukasi). Veteran receiver Robert Woods also didn’t practice. The Texans also have receiver Nico Collins on injured reserve.
