What they said: Draft experts weigh in on the Dallas Cowboys selecting Luke Schoonmaker

Schoony is going to shock people!

The Dallas Cowboys really like the Michigan Wolverines. At least on Thursday and Friday, they did.

During the first round, the Cowboys took Michigan defensive tackle Mazi Smith. On Friday, Dallas selected the Wolverines tight end, Luke Schoonmaker, in the second round.

Schoonmaker had a wide range when it came to draft projections. He was viewed as getting selected anywhere from the late second round to the fifth round, but Dallas saw something special in him and scooped him up. The Cowboys lost their starting tight end, Dalton Schultz, in free agency, so the need was apparent.

After the selection, publications came out with their draft grades. Here’s what the experts had to say on the pick.
