What NFL teams are keeping Sean Clifford on their NFL draft radar?

Sean Clifford has interviewed with a few teams leading up to the NFL draft.

When a player doesn’t receive an invite to the NFL combine during the draft process it can be a death blow to their stock. In the case of [autotag]Sean Clifford[/autotag], that has seemingly just provided him with further motivation even after a strong final season for the Nittany Lions.

Clifford was part of the Penn State pro day on March 24, working through testing he didn’t get a chance to do at the combine and quarterback drills for all 32 NFL teams that attended. After that event, Clifford met with the Denver Broncos and their quarterback coach Davis Webb. He followed that up by meeting with the Dallas Cowboys a few days later.

It is unclear whether or not Clifford will get drafted but the teams in the league are gaining more interest in him as the event draws near. The latest team showing interest is one with some unique Penn State ties in the form of the New York Giants.

The obvious connection comes from running back [autotag]Saquon Barkley[/autotag] who was teammates with Clifford at one point. Beyond that, there is a more unique connection with Christian Daboll who is the son of Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

The younger Daboll served as a student coaching assistant with Penn State in recent years during Clifford’s tenure at State College. He was recently added to New York’s staff as an offensive assistant which means there is someone with a close understanding of Clifford inside their building.

Despite missing out on the combine, it seems Clifford is finding footing in the NFL less than two weeks before its draft.
