What Jim Harbaugh said after Michigan football beat Rutgers, 52-17

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Michigan football wasn’t exactly sharp after the first drive in the first half, and found itself down at halftime thanks to missing two long field goals.

However, the usual second-half defensive adjustments paid off in a big way at Rutgers. Linebacker Michael Barrett secured two interceptions — one on a pick six and both in Rutgers territory — that contributed to Michigan scoring 21 points in less than a minute and a half of game play.

The Wolverines dominated the first half statistically, but a blocked punt returned for a touchdown put the Scarlet Knights on the board and gave them momentum. However, the maize and blue stemmed that in a big way, allowing just five first downs overall and one in the second half.

After the game, head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke at length about the fight he got from his team. Here is everything he had to say.
