What injuries is Texas A&M dealing with as they enter the bye week?

Texas A&M has reached the midpoint of its rocky 2022 college football season, coming off of their devastating 24-20 loss to the then No.1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, a game decided in the final 3 seconds as Aggie quarterback Haynes King threw an ill-timed pass to freshman wide receiver Evan Stewart at the goal line, failing to score the game-winning touchdown.

With the loss, the Aggies have dropped to an even 3-3, and 1-2 in SEC play, as the team enters the bye week still looking for answers, specifically on offense, but should be mightily encouraged by the effort shown by the defense executed by multiple members of Texas A&M’s historically talented 2022 recruiting class.

With no Monday press conference due to the bye week, the initial injury report is solely based on reports through various sources, paired with a couple of speculations from what we saw at the end of Saturday night’s game.

To start, The Aggies were without over 9 starters against the Crimson Tide on Saturday night, including quarterback Max Johnson, left tackle Trey Zuhn, defensive end Tunmise Adeleye, middle linebacker Andrew White Jr., cornerbacks Tyreek Chappell and Myles Jones, and defensive tackle Shemar Turner just to name a few. At the same time, left guard Jordan Moko and wide receiver Ainias Smith were lost for the season within the last two weeks.

As daunting as that list may be, the bye week has arrived at the perfect time, as more than half of the players listed have a chance to be back in time for their matchup visiting the South Carolina Gamecocks on Oct. 22nd.

Now, aside from some bumps and bruises, multiple players sustained in Saturday’s game, the biggest worry is quarterback Haynes King, who took quite the beating in his gutsiest performance to date, while having a noticeable limp through the fourth quarter. With zero evidence pertaining to a serious injury of some sort, we will have to wait and see if his health status changes throughout the next couple of weeks. Gig ’em, and BTHO the bye week.
