What could the Raiders get in a trade for WR Davante Adams?

The Raiders are on a two-game winning streak and are back to .500 after six games. With matchups against the Bears, Giants and Jets coming up in the next month, the Raiders have a chance to get well above .500 before December.

However, not everyone is thrilled with the way things have gone this season. On Wednesday, All-Pro WR Davante Adams openly complained about his role in the offense. And it’s not the first time he’s voiced displeasure with the direction of the team.

If the Raiders decided to move on from Adams, how much could the Raiders expect to get in a trade? According to Bill Barnwell of ESPN, the expected trade value is less than a first-round pick:

WR Davante Adams netted a first- and second-round pick for the Packers when the Raiders acquired him before the 2022 season. That trade hasn’t worked out, but it isn’t Adams’ fault. Given that he turns 31 in December and is on a market-resetting contract, I don’t think we would see him land a first-round pick via trade. A second-rounder would seem more likely.

Could the Raiders expect to get a second-round pick and a little bit more from Adams? Probably. But is it even worth doing that considering his role in the offense? Definitely not. That is why the solution here is to get Adams more involved, regardless of who is at quarterback.

Adams hasn’t demanded a trade or anything of that nature. Yet, it seems like we could be inching closer to that if he continues to be ignored in the offense. Don’t expect the Raiders to even consider a trade now. But if things don’t get better this year, maybe they would ponder a deal next offseason.
