When the Green Bay Packers traded up in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft for Utah State quarterback Jordan Love, it sure seemed like Aaron Rodgers’ days at Lambeau Field were numbered.
Instead, Rodgers has won the NFL MVP award in each of the following two seasons, and has reportedly agreed to a new four-year contract extension that will make him the highest-paid player in league history.
The Packers are obviously committing to Rodgers as their quarterback of both the present and the near future, so where does that leave Love?
On the trade block, mostlikely.
Jim Nagy, executive director of the Senior Bowl, says Love could fetch a second-round pick:

Love still has at least two years left on his rookie contract, as well as a fifth-year team option, making him a bargain as a potential starting quarterback over the next three seasons. He’s still completely unproven in terms of regular-season experience, but he’s also just 23 years old, giving him plenty of upside.
Especially considering the lackluster nature of quarterback classes in both the 2022 NFL draft and free agency, it wouldn’t be surprising for another team to take a chance on Love in return for a second-rounder.
