Over the past few weeks, the Bills offense has thrived. Once that happens, the hot seat cools down significantly.
The 2019 season saw some criticisms for Buffalo offense coordinator Brian Daboll in the early stages. After solid games offensively against the NFL’s fourth-best defense in the Broncos and sixth-best defense in the Cowboys, the critics are quiet.
But the latest news on Daboll was the pretty cool response he gave to a question on Monday during his weekly press conference. It was pointed out to him the last time the Bills had 10 wins through 13 games, he was 16 years old. In case you forgot, Daboll actually grew up down the street from New Era Field in Orchard Park.
So what was Daboll doing the last time the Bills had 10 wins through 13 games? Rooting for the Bills, of course.
“I have no idea, I have no idea. Cheering these guys on, I know that,” Daboll said.
If things continue to trend in a positive direction for Daboll, he might start to get interviews for head coaching jobs in the future. But one step at a time.
On a more serious note, the OC said playing games that matter during the final month of the season is what his goal is each and every season.
It’s good to play meaningful games in December. That’s the goal and that’s where we’re at,” Daboll said.
He knows he has a big test ahead of him as well, calling Buffalo’s upcoming opponent, the Baltimore Ravens, “the best team in football.”
