The Oklahoma Sooners are coming off back-to-back losses on the road but now make a quick trip back home for a game against the [autotag]West Virginia Mountaineers[/autotag].
During their two losses, the Sooners lost their identity on the defensive side of the ball. They allowed 79 points per game in those two games when they are a team that allows 65.2 on the season. They forced 4.5 turnovers per game in those two games when they usually force 12.6 per game.
Porter Moser spoke about needing to get their identity back defensively.
“We’ve lost track of some little things that we do defensively,” Moser said. “It cost us two points here, two points there, a transition D that we weren’t on the helpline and they got a dunk. We went under a flare, we should be going over a flare. A bunch of little stuff like that, that just added up. We got to get back to coveting the possession by possession little things that go into being a very good defensive team.”
They should be able to do that in their next game against West Virginia. The Mountaineers aren’t a very good offensive team. They score 67.9 points per game and also turn it over almost 12 times a game while also shooting 40.6% from the field and 30.3% from three.
This would be the perfect game to get back on track on the defensive end.
