It’s a new year and the start of conference play around the college basketball landscape.
Instead of taking a look at the power rankings for just the Pac-12, we at Ducks Wire decided to take a look at the state of affairs on the entire West Coast. After all, it has been a banner season for west coast college basketball, with the WCC and Mountain West both producing loads of talented squads.
Two undefeated teams remain on the west coast, while teams like San Francisco, Boise State, Saint Mary’s, and Wyoming have had excellent, somewhat under-the-radar seasons.
Of course, this list is still dominated by Pac-12 teams, with nine of the top-25 teams residing in the conference of champions.
Seven come from the Mountain West, six from the WCC, and we even snuck in two teams from the WAC and one team from the Big West.
Without further ado, here are the top 25 D-1 basketball programs on the west coast, as of January 8.
Note: KenPom rankings are listed, but were not used exclusively for ranking purposes.
