Week 17 outcomes radically alter the top of the 2025 NFL Draft order with one week to play

The Giants win pushed them from 1st to 4th, while many other spots also moved around within the top 10 picks with one week to play

Tear up those mock drafts. Everything we thought we knew about the top of the 2025 NFL Draft order has radically changed after the outcomes of Week 17.

The penultimate week of the 2024 season shook up the teams all over the first 10 picks. It started at the top with the New York Giants.

Entering the weekend as the only 2-win team, the Giants snapped a 10-game losing streak by crushing the Indianapolis Colts, 45-33. New York hadn’t scored 45 total points in the last three weeks, but reserve QB Drew Lock ended Indy’s playoff hopes with a commanding performance. First-round wideout Malik Nabers netted 171 receiving yards and two TDs.

Vaulting into the top spot with one week to play: the New England Patriots. In as lopsided of a game as the NFL has seen this season, the Patriots fell 40-7 to the Chargers on Saturday night. Rookie head coach Jerod Mayo’s Patriots have lost six in a row to fall to 3-13. New England’s relatively weak strength of schedule will capture any tie-break situation, so the Patriots control their own destiny for the top pick. They play the AFC East champion Buffalo Bills in Week 18.

The Tennessee Titans moved into the No. 2 spot by clinching last place in the AFC South with their Week 17 loss to Jacksonville. Tennessee is also 3-13, while the Jaguars improved to 4-12. Jacksonville swept the Titans, accounting for half its win total, and that places the Jaguars in the No. 5 spot.

Cleveland also moved ahead of the Giants by falling 20-3 at home against Miami. The Browns have scored 30 points total in their last four games, with Sunday’s ugly loss confirming that Dorian Thompson-Robinson is not a credible option to be their quarterback. Cleveland

The top 4 spots entering Week 18, with all teams teams at 3-13:

1. Patriots
2. Titans
3. Browns
4. Giants

They are sorted by strength-of-schedule tiebreaker. If all four teams lose in Week 18, the order is not expected to change.

There are five teams that enter the final week with 4-12 records. In their current order from slots No. 5 to No. 9:

5. Jaguars
6. Panthers
7. Jets
8. Raiders
9. Bears

The New Orleans Saints are the only team that is 5-11, and they hold the 10th spot. San Francisco, which plays Detroit on Monday night, is 6-9. Every other team has seven wins already entering Week 18.
