Wednesday Injury Report: Elliott improved, several updates for safety

The Dallas Cowboys returned to practice on Wednesday with a few additions to their previous week. The New York Giants hobbled as well.

The Dallas Cowboys are well aware what is in front of them on Sunday afternoon when they travel to New Jersey to play the New York Giants. With a win and a Washington Football Team loss on Sunday Night Football the Cowboys will win the NFC East in this anything-but-normal season.

The team returned to the practice field Wednesday in preparation and a few names popped up on the injury report.

Both Cowboys safety Steven Parker and offensive lineman Zack Martin came off the injured reserve list, but only Parker was able to practice.

The other two safeties, Donovan Wilson and Darian Thompson (concussion) were not participants. Also missing again was linebacker Leighton Vander Esch (ankle) and corner Rashard Robinson (knee).

Safety Xavier Woods was seen doing individual drills while running back Ezekiel Elliott, who is coming off one of his best performances of the season, was also off to the side with resistance training in the morning session. He was not, however, even listed on the official practice report, meaning he was a full go during the later afternoon work.

The New York Giants also returned to the practice field with newly reported injuries.

Fullback Eli Penny and wide receiver Golden Tate did not practice while tight end Evan Engram, safety Jabrill Peppers (ankle), and wide receiver Sterling Shepard (rib) were limited. This is the first report of an injury when it comes to Shepard and Peppers.
