Earlier this off-season we got word that the iconic Cheez It Bowl was moving from Arizona to Orlando to take over what was previously known as the Camping World Bowl. News out on Thursday however takes the crown as the biggest and perhaps grossest college bowl news of 2020.

That’s right, the game formerly known as the Belk Bowl in Charlotte will now be the Duke’s Mayonnaise Bowl. In conjunction, a game Notre Dame plays in this fall will be have the Duke’s sponsorship attached as well.
When Notre Dame and Wake Forest play in Charlotte in late September, they’ll now be playing in the inaugural Duke’s Mayo Classic.
Man, I can’t wait to see the trophy for that one.
Now I think mayo gets a bit of a bad wrap but some but I’m not going to get on-board with saying I love it, either. Those tomato and mayo sandwiches look disgusting but if you add a tiny bit of it to a burger you’ve got something.
In my book it’s not quite The Bad Boys Mowers Gasparilla Bowl or The Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl, named for beautiful Elk Grove Village, Illinois, but it’s not far off, either.
The Duke’s Mayonnaise Bowl will feature an ACC team annually with the Big Ten and SEC rotating as the opponent. The Big Ten will have first dibs in playing the ACC for all of the Mayo this coming bowl season.
