The Wisconsin women’s basketball team took down 12-ranked Michigan 78-70 on Sunday, beating their Big Ten opponent for the first time since 2014.
In what was an incredible Senior Day victory, two seniors in specific played massive roles in the team’s success. Julie Pospisilova (number 5) in particular was able to scored 25 points while adding six rebounds, five assists and two blocks.
On top of Pospisilova’s production, fellow senior guard Avery LaBarbera (number 12) had 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in her final game at the Kohl Center.
Head coach Marisa Moseley and the Wisconsin women will now shift their focus to the Big Ten Tournament next week and as the 10 seed they’ll face seven-seed Purdue on Thursday night.
