With Jan. 25 having finally arrived and the limit on moving veteran point guard Marcus Smart expired, the Boston Celtics have few remaining obstacles for making trades ahead of the 2022 deadline this coming Feb. 10 apart from the teams themselves.
At the same time, the rumor mill is starting to crank up with Dennis Schroder, Jaylen Brown, Ben Simmons, Harrison Barnes, and other players finding themselves the center of speculation even in situations where teams have made it clear they are not shopping said players to other teams — or even taking calls.
