Oklahoma extended its Big 12 title streak on Saturday with a strong defensive performance in a 27-21 win over Iowa State. This avenges the early October loss for the Sooners in Ames in what was the low point of the year with the 1-2 start.
For the Cyclones, the year comes to a disappointing end. Despite having one of the most talented and best teams in Iowa State football history, they wind up with three losses at year’s end and will not get the opportunity to play in one of the bigger stages come the bowl season.
However, as long as Matt Campbell is the head coach it seems like they will be here to say. But that is just the question: if Campbell will stay or leave for a larger program.
Cyclone fans will undoubtedly be sweating that out over the offseason to come, as he will be a hot commodity wanted by pretty much any team with a head coaching vacancy.
