WATCH: What factors have dictated the start of the Boston Celtics season?

Rough, then smooth(er), this team still has plenty of work to do.

We have officially reached the part of the NBA season where people are looking at trends more seriously, and the Boston Celtics have mostly recovered from a tough start to their 2021-22 NBA schedule. But there are still a number of lingering concerns, a tough schedule coming in December, and not a few injuries to key players already.

Key Celtics players like Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Al Horford have struggled to shoot the ball as well as usual on a team that is hungry for reliable offensive firepower, but we have also been seeing some very unusual impacts to key players on other teams, perhaps due to the new way games are being called this season, the new ball being used, or for reasons unknown.

What among these and other factors can we attribute the early part of Boston’s schedule results to, and what is still something of a mystery to analysts?

The hosts of NBC Sports Boston’s “Celtics Post-Up” Chris Forsberg and Amina Smith dive into the team’s down-then-up start, and try to make sense of what’s gone on to date in the video embedded above.
