Watch: Van Weber, who threw for 33 touchdowns and one interception last year, worked out for several colleges

Van Weber, a standout New Jersey quarterback at Rutherford, had a throwing session this week.

Former New Jersey prep quarterback Van Weber had a Thursday workout for several college coaches to showcase his offseason work.

Weber was recruited last season by former Rutgers offensive coordinator Sean Gleeson. He attended the Rutgers home opener last year, a blowout win of Wagner.

Weber was 127-for-177 for 2,228 yards with 33 touchdowns and one interception last season for Rutherford High School (Rutherford, N.J.). He held a Division II offer that he turned down so that he could re-classify and attend Milford Academy (Berlin, N.Y) for this upcoming season.

On Thursday, he threw at Rutherford for Nunzio Campanile (tight ends coach, Syracuse who was part of the Rutgers football staff last year), Danny Langsdorf (offensive coordinator at Temple),  Mike Gennetti (defensive coordinator at Merrimack).

Campanile served as the interim offensive coordinator at Rutgers firing a midseason shakeup that saw Gleeson leave the team.
