Van Jefferson’s dad had a front-row seat for the Rams’ 30-23 win over the Cardinals on Monday night, watching his son catch a 52-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford in the third quarter. Unfortunately, his seat was on the Cardinals’ sideline because Shawn Jefferson is Arizona’s wide receivers coach.
That’s right, Jefferson faced his dad’s team for the second time this season, avenging the Rams’ loss in Week 4 by beating helping his team beat the Cardinals on the road Monday.
After the game, Jefferson and his dad shared a moment on the field. Jefferson handed his dad a game ball and hugged him, taking a minute to catch up after a hard-fought game against Shawn’s Cardinals.

In the win, Jefferson caught two passes for 58 yards and a touchdown, continuing what’s been a very successful second season in the NFL. Unfortunately, his dad is still 2-1 against him after he was on the Jets’ coaching staff last season when New York stunned the Rams late in the season.
