Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has now appeared in two NFL games, with his first start being last week in the Dolphins’ win over the Los Angeles Rams.
In his debut start, Tagovailoa did not have to do too much in order to keep Miami’s three-game win streak alive, as the defense and special teams won the game. He completed 12 passes on 22 attempts, though there were plenty of dropped passes, 93 yards and a passing touchdown.
Now, Tagovailoa will travel with the 4-3 Miami team to Arizona and look to inch closer toward a playoff push, with only being one game behind the first place Buffalo Bills in the AFC East.
Playing the Cardinals will be a special game for Tagovailoa. It won’t be his first time facing off against former Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray. In fact, the last time they played was the 2018 Orange Bowl in Miami as a College Football Playoff semi-final. Tagovailoa and the Crimson Tide won 45-34.
Today, Tagovailoa spoke with the media and discussed his relationship with Murray.
The Dolphins quarterback begins by how shocked he was by Murray’s build, saying he was surprised to see how “jacked up” he was, considering his height.
He also talked about Murray’s parents, who he met at the 2018 Heisman ceremony, where they were both finalists for the award and Murray walked away victorious.
You can hear all of what Tagovailoa had to say below:
