Despite a generally positive initial reaction for the Boston Celtics trade that sent out veteran shooting guard Josh Richardson, wing Romeo Langford, a first-round pick, and a pick swap for Derrick White, a subset of fans and analysts initially questioned — some infamously so — whether it was actually a good trade.
So far, it has been anything but a disaster, but there’s a case to be made it was a slight overpay. Is it the cost of doing business in today’s NBA, or should Boston have held out for a cheaper ask? More importantly, just how much can White’s skillset help the Celtics moving forward?
The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie and Mo Dakhil got together to talk over what Boston did at the trade deadline, even touching on the deal that swapped out Dennis Schroder for Daniel Theis.
Check out the clip embedded above to hear all they have to say on the new-look Celtics and their deadline deals that made them so.
