The Longhorns are heading to Fayetteville to rekindle what once was a heated rivalry with Arkansas.
The Week 2 matchup marks the first road game of the season, and the first road game with Steve Sarkisian leading the charge.
Texas’ game kicks off on Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
The Longhorns put the nation on notice Week 1 when they blew out the then ranked No. 23 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns by 20 points. The convincing win did not stop the media and the college football world from doubting the Longhorns against old Southwest Conference foe Arkansas, though.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Hudson Card, along with running back Bijan Robinson, are looking to continue the success that they had against Louisiana. Texas’ defense will also be tested this week, due to the fierce rushing attack of Arkansas’ quarterback K.J. Jefferson and running back Trelon Smith.
The Longhorns are entering the first matchup with Arkansas since 2014 ranked as the No. 15 team in the nation, and are looking to add another win to their 56-22 series lead against the Razorbacks.
There is an immense amount of energy surrounding this game, as it will be played in front of a sold out crowd, and during a prime time slot on ESPN. The Texas social media department released a hype video ahead of the game, and it’s safe to say that the team and fan base will be bringing the juice.
