WATCH: Texas QB target Devin Brown shows out in playoff game

Texas target Devin Brown looked very, very promising on Friday evening.

With every game that goes by, it feels as if the quarterback of the future is not currently on Texas’ roster.

Whether Steve Sarkisian dips into the transfer portal to grab someone with college experience, or relies on a recruit from the high school ranks, Texas has plenty of options to fix their issue at quarterback.

The Longhorns already hold a commitment from California native and 2022 four-star Maalik Murphy, but Sarkisian has made it clear that ideally he would like to take two quarterbacks in his first full class as the Texas head coach. Recently, Texas has been linked with current USC commit and four-star quarterback Devin Brown out of Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah.

Hailing from the same school that produced USC quarterback Jaxson Dart and New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, Brown has been absolutely electric all season. He led his team to the playoffs where they faced off against Lone Peak on Friday night.

In a very back and forth game that saw a combined 91 points, Brown’s record-breaking performance was not enough to advance his team to the next round. He finished the game with three passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and completed 21-of-28 passes for 368 yards.

If the Longhorns were to flip Brown from his USC commitment, he very well could come in and compete for the starting job as a freshman, as he has a great arm and is very elusive.

Take a look at some of his fantastic plays from his final high school game.
