With multiple starting spots up for grabs, there seems to be an extra level of intensity from what we have been shown from Texas’ spring practices.
Texas is in the midst of trying to bounce back after going 5-7 in the first season under Steve Sarkisian. While the season didn’t go as planned, the culture change seems to be in full effect as the program lost what may have turned out to be some bad apples at some very key positions.
The new look Longhorns are headlined by Ohio State quarterback transfer Quinn Ewers, running back Bijan Robinson, and wide receiver Xavier Worthy. With the Big 12 looking very up for grabs, Texas is looking to have a Baylor-like ascension from the bottom of the conference to the top of the conference within a year.
The Longhorns spring ball features the start of numerous position battles at defensive back, wide receiver, and of course quarterback. Here’s a glimpse of one of their intense practices.

As the spring goes on, it is certainly fair to assume that some of the battles will sort themselves out but until then, the Longhorns are going as hard as possible.
