Prior to making the trip to the Cotton Bowl for Texas-Oklahoma on Oct. 9, wide receiver Armani Winfield put together a monster performance for Lewisville on Friday evening.
The four-star prospect is rated the No. 24 wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting class and the No. 31 overall prospect in the state of Texas, according to 247Sports composite. He became the first commit of Steve Sarkisian’s tenure with the Longhorns, officially announcing his decision on Jan. 12.
Winfield and Brenen Thompson are the only two wide receiver commits in Texas’ class at this point. In June, Winfield took an official visit to LSU but he remains locked in to what Sarkisian is building in Austin.
Texas could certainly use an explosive playmaker like him.
Lewisville defeated Flower Mound 33-24 on Oct. 8 thanks to Winfield’s 11 receptions for 201 yards and two touchdowns. The Farmers are now 6-0 on the season. Take a look at two of Winfield’s explosive plays below.

Winfield will be in attendance for the Red River Showdown along with numerous other big-time recruits and commits. “I’m excited for the game because I’m going to be playing in it next year,” he said.
