Texas women’s basketball coach Vic Schaefer has been very adamant about improving fan attendance at games. Saturday’s matchup against Oklahoma State will be the final regular-season game of the year as well as senior night for the Horns.
Schaefer made a deal with the Longhorn community that he will donate $10,000 to the Neighborhood Longhorns Progam if at least 10,000 fans attend Saturday’s game.
The Longhorns are having a fanatic season with a record of 22-6, ranked No. 9 in the nation. Schaefer believes his squad deserves more dedication from the fan base. Texas ranks outside the top 30 in overall attendance.
Saturday’s game will also be the last regular season basketball game at the Frank Erwin Center. Both the men’s and women’s basketball programs will move over to the new Moody Center for the 2022-23 season.
For our Seniors,
10K fans attending the game in Erwin on Saturday means $10K from Coach will go straight to the Neighborhood Longhorns Program. Let’s make it happen 🤘#HookEm pic.twitter.com/ypDZnHLqoA
