WATCH: Terry McLaurin’s catch to win the game for the Commanders

Terry McLaurin’s amazing catch saved the day for the Commanders.

The Washington Commanders looked dead in the water after Indianapolis running back Nyhiem Hines scored a six-yard touchdown with 11 minutes remaining to give the Colts a 16-7 lead.

The Colts were gifted with excellent field position after Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke’s only interception of the day.

How would Heinicke respond? Down two scores, Heinicke methodically led the Commanders down the field, but Washington came up short on third down, kicking a field goal to cut the lead to 16-10. It was a disappointing ending to a 12-play, 82-yard drive.

Now it was up to Washington’s defense again.

The Commanders did their job, giving the ball back to the offense one more time. However, Washington would need to drive 89 yards with 2:39 remaining. The good news was the Commanders had all three timeouts remaining.

And Terry McLaurin.

Heinicke put together another drive, making good throws to Curtis Samuel and Cam Sims to give Washington a first and 10 at the Indianapolis 34-yard line.

On the next play, Heinicke drops back and goes deep to McLaurin, who is covered up by All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore. Yet, somehow McLaurin comes away with the ball. Washington calls timeout, and on the next play, Heinicke calls his own number to win the game.

Check out McLaurin’s fantastic catch.
