With the first two evaluation periods over this spring, UNC basketball commit [autotag]GG Jackson[/autotag] showed why he is ranked so highly among all of the recruiting services.
Jackson is ranked as the No. 1 player in the Rivals150 class of 2023 rankings, No. 6 in the ESPN Top 100 and the No. 8 prospect in the 247Sports rankings.
The 6-foot-9 forward committed to North Carolina on April 27.
As a junior, the South Carolina native led the Ridge View Blazers to a 20-11 record and state championship while averaging 22.1 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game.
247Sports national recruiting analyst Brandon Jenkins watched Jackson multiple times during Session II of the Nike EYBL a few weekends ago and offered his thoughts.
“Throughout the high school season, GG Jackson has entered himself in the conversation for the No. 1 spot in the 2023 class. In my first time viewing his game in-person, the top ten prospect certainly has a strong case given his array of faceup tools and touch from the perimeter. What is exciting is how there was a lot of versatility shown with minimal touches. He played to what the defense gave him in the half court and ran the floor with a great sense of urgency on the break. Although he is a couple of inches shorter, there are some Jaren Jackson Jr.vibes he brings to the floor.”
