Don’t look now, but the Boston Celtics are playing some of their best basketball of their 2021-22 campaign, and doing so just in time to perhaps change some minds in the team’s front office about whether it would be wise to invest in the Celtics’ roster ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline.
With less than a day to go before the annual moratorium on trades between franchises in the league for the season, Boston has until 3 pm ET this Thursday, Feb. 10 to decide if they will pull the trigger on a deal to make the club a stronger one in the postseason — or keep their powder dry for coming offseason.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast recently debated whether the recent excellent play is a mirage created by the drop in difficulty of the league calendar, or if the Celtics have truly turned the corner with their play, and what that should mean for the team at the deadline.
Watch the clip embedded above to hear their takes on what Boston ought to be doing.
