The Spartans have come out strong against the No. 8 ranked Wildcats today. Not only has the defense held strong so far in the first quarter, but the offense struck early too.
Rocky Lombardi, who was benched two weeks ago after going 3/7 for 21 yards and throwing two interceptions, has started this game much better after finding Jalen Nailor deep down field for a 75-yard opening touchdown.
Michigan State went three-and-out on the first drive, but were able to hold strong on defense and force a turnover on downs to get the ball back. Lombardi then proceeded to find Nailor down field where Nailor could then use his speed to escape the defenders.
