Since being drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2018, Robert Williams had spent every summer rehabbing from an injury or recovering from surgery. However, this summer is different. The athletic big man is fully healthy and appears to be taking the opportunity to work on his game.
Rather than building out a back-to-the-basket game that would see Williams become more of a low-post scoring threat, it appears Boston’s rim-runner is looking to add a mid-range jumper to his arsenal ahead of next season. Given how Williams was often utilized as a short-roll weapon last season and had to rely on his passing skills to hurt the opposing defense, a mid-range jumper would make perfect sense.
Celtics fans have been enjoying some workout footage that was recently posted by Williams skills trainer Aaron Miller. Williams can be seen developing his shooting form in multiple scenarios.

With Williams finally healthy, it will be interesting to see the developments in his offensive game once the new season, especially if he can begin knocking down 15-foot jump shots with some consistency.
However, remaining healthy throughout the season should still be Williams’ primary focus, which will likely come through smart minutes management throughout the season.
