How many NFL quarterbacks do you see hurdling defenders? Probably not many, but Bryce Perkins just pulled it off to perfection on Saturday night against the Chargers. After avoiding pressure and stepping up into the pocket, Perkins took off in an attempt to pick up the first down.
And boy, did he ever.
He stiff-armed one defender and then proceeded to hurdle another, converting on third-and-9 in spectacular fashion. There aren’t many quarterbacks who could pull this off, but Perkins made it look easy.

Perkins may not make the 53-man roster, but he’s making a strong case to land on the practice squad again. He’s had a good night against the Chargers, both with his legs and through the air.
