Before the Raiders signed Kolton Miller to a contract extension last week, the last first-round pick to receive a second deal from the Raiders was Darren McFadden. That’s how long it’s been since the Raiders have really “hit” on a draft pick, outside of Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper (who were traded away before they received deals.)
McFadden didn’t quite live up to expectations for the No. 4 pick in that draft, but he was a very good player. The best season of his career came in 2010 when he totaled 1,664 yards and 10 touchdowns from scrimmage in just 13 games.
To relive that pick by the Raiders, here is Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN breaking down that selection from the 2008 NFL draft.

McFadden played seven years for the Raiders, totaling 6,016 yards and 30 touchdowns. He would go on to play three seasons with the Cowboys and had a very productive season in 2015, accumulating 1,417 yards in just 10 starts.
McFadden retired from the NFL a few years ago after totaling 7,535 yards and 33 touchdowns. He’s one of the greatest college football players of all time after three straight 1,100+ yard seasons at Arkansas. During his three years in the SEC, he totaled over 5,000 yards and scored 50 touchdowns.
