WATCH: President Trump mentions Alabama football in press conference

During his Thursday press conference, President Donald Trump mentioned Alabama football.

During his Thursday press conference about the coronavirus, President Donald Trump mentioned Alabama football. And regardless of political stance, it’s still very cool that Trump mentioned Alabama football out of all other programs in the country.

“Our normal is if you have 100,00 people in an Alabama football game or 110,000 to be specific,” Trump said. “Normal” is not going to be a game where you have 50,000. We want 110,00 people there. We want every seat occupied. Normal is not going to be a game where we have 50,000” people.

President Trump attended the Alabama vs. LSU matchup last November,

Trump was at UA’s Bryant Denny stadium, capacity almost 102,000, last year for the Alabama/LSU game. The Tide is set to start its season Sept. 5 vs. USC in Arlington, Texas.

This shout out today comes after President Trump had a conference call with major league sports commissioners a little over a week ago, and according to ESPN, “President Donald Trump said he believes the NFL season should start on time in September.”

The call included 12 major sports commissioners and top executives, including the NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, NHL, Major League Soccer, WNBA, WWE Wrestling, the PGA Tour, UFC, IndyCar, LPGA, and Breeders Cup, according to a White House pool report.

Although the future is full of uncertainty, this news at least brings a dose of hope as sports fans all over the world have been missing watching their favorite sports.
